Becoming a Donor

AREF appreciates the generosity of our donors, who year after year provide the financial support AREF needs to achieve its goals. Donations are allocated to providing scholarships and building an endowment fund to sustain AREF’s programs for years to come. Here are the steps to becoming an AREF donor:

    • Establish an endowment fund (learn more here) to recognize the life of a friend, mentor, or family member

    • Or, one-time or ongoing donations in the form of scholarships, prizes or bursaries.

    • Each $25,000 endowment donation allows for an annual perpetual named scholarship of $1,000 in a field of study of your choosing.

    • For one-time donations,

      • Scholarships of $5,000 require a $5,500 donation

      • Scholarships of $3,000 requires a $3,500 donation

      • Scholarships of $1,000 requires a $1,500 donation.

Donations can be made through CanadaHelps. Please note that CanadaHelps deducts 3.75% of all donations made through its platform. Alternatively, you can make a direct donation through e-transfer to etransfer@alrashidfoundation.org. We are so thankful for your generosity.
