About AREF

Founded in 2013, the Al Rashid Education Foundation supports Muslim post-secondary students in Northern Alberta through scholarships recognizing academic excellence and community service. Since 2014, AREF has awarded more than $500,000 to over 300 students through community-funded and Sharia-compliant endowed scholarships that continue to honour donors and their loved ones.
